Jesus Acedo of Black Sun Ensemble maybe the greatest guitar player in psychedelia in the last 20 years.
- Lost In Tyme.
Beyond the aural metaphors, synthesis of styles, exotic instruments and chemically damaged storytelling, though, BSE proves eternally cosmic—oblivious to complacency by relentlessly evolving its spiritually infinite, ethnic-rock universe.
-Harp
Possibly, the world’s coolest band.  The Black Sun Ensemble sound totally strung out, as though they took a detour on the way from the Arizona desert and wound up in Kashmir.  Mostly instrumental, their albums occasionally suggests the Velvets- "Dove of the Desert" could be "Venus in Furs" with no lyrics- or Can, but more often suggests vast quantities of hallucinogenics. The star of the proceedings is one Jesus Acedo, something of a guitar wizard, who claims on the sleeve to play “electric and acoustic peacock feathers”. With you, Jesus.

BSE is proud to announce that all of the materials for our upcoming CD Across the Sea of Id: The Way to Eden have been sent to our friends at Camera Obscura Records. The CD will not only feature art work by Black Sun Ensemble percussionist John Paul Marchand but also a video in Windows Media format for a live version of "Dove of the Desert." We are expecting that the CD will be release sometime during the summer 2008.

Well alright!  We just got verbal confirmation today the BSE's new CD Across the Sea of Id: The Way to Eden will be licensed to
Camera Obscura Records! We are thinking that a released date of mid 2008 seems reasonable.  Although the audio is now complete, there is still some work to be done on the release. BSE percussionist John Paul Marchand is slated to create Across the Sea of Id's artwork - which still needs to be finalized.  Also, we are hoping that Across the Sea of Id will come enhanced with a video as did 2006's Bolt of Apollo. The video, directed by both John Paul Marchand and BSE's saxman Brian Maloney, will be constructed around a version of BSE signature
Dove of the Desert, recorded live in 2004.  Stay tuned!

While it kind of reminds us of the scene from Spinal Tap when the band hears their song on a "where are they now" segment, we thought we might note this new page written on a site called "Lost in Tyme," regarding the Lambent Flame album from 1989.
