| The second period of the three 4 track collectives, Future 47 represented a prolific and creatively fertile era. Recording seven full length projects in just over two years, Future 47 continued to develop the direction of the previous Universal period, though often exploring strange new musical avenues. Perhaps the most significant difference between the Universal and Future 47 periods is that the latter was recorded in various locations, whereas the former was all recorded in one place. The space often influences the musical outcome. That is evident with the hypnotic and progressive Infinite Repeat recorded at Beloit College-Beloit Wisconsin, the haunted A Goldfish Has No Place To Hide-recorded in Wicker Park, Chicago, and the dark, blissed out offerings of Space Noir, recorded in both Milwaulkee and Madison Wisconsin. It is difficult to characterize the Future 47 period except to say that began with heavy fuzzed out space rock jams and got wierder, finally ending up with something that was moving away from tradition rock and roll to a sound that would be explore through the final final four track collective period, Mascara Snakes. | |||||||||||||||
