Creator John Paul Marchand's vision of environmental apocalypse and salvation, Twitch… is a rock opera in the old school tradition. Gathering the forces of many Tucson artists, musicians and personalities, Marchand has made Twitch… a truly collaborative, communal effort. The album's story is told by musical contributors Sun Zoom Spark, Cyclotron, Mat Bevel, Rey Tester, Jesus Acedo and many others. Twitch…not only puts the 'rock' back into rock opera, its paints a unique portrait of a community of musicians and artists that have donated their time and talent to make this record happen. In September 2002, Sparrow and Cicada Theater Works brought the opera to the stage, with Sun Zoom Spark providing the live music for the production. Currently, Marchand is filming a version of the story that will feature much of the music herein, also including several unreleased tracks.
