This dark and often troubled-sounding sophomoric effort, Drone sound both like the feverish delusions of the sick and the marijuana-madness of youth. From the bizarre opener “Real” through the primitive cover of Cream’s “Tales of Brave Ulysses” ending on with the almost new-wave “I Stared into the Face of the Burning Sun,” Drone is a weird one. The CD is made more diverse by the addition of outtake recordings of Universal’s live ensemble counterpart Isis Rising.
