“Egyptian Queen” from Universal’s Recordings 1987-1989 (2007)

“Egyptian Queen” was recorded in Geneva Illinois in late 1987 and is one of the earliest original songs recorded during the Universal period.  It was updated in 2007 for inclusion on the compilation project “Recordings 1987-1989.” “Egyptian Queen” was originally was featured on SlowBurn Records first collection of recorded material, “Blind Child and the Garden.” Eric Johnson – all instruments and vocals.

“Waiting For Paradise” from Universal’s Oceans (1989)

“Waiting For Paradise” was a piano song that was originally included on the Sandstoneproject from 1988.  The original version contained lyrics and inspired a whole set of “piano-rock” material, of which, this version is a part.  Recorded in August of 1989.  Eric Johnson – all instruments

“Wind In The Willows” from Universal’s Icy Lucifer (1989)

“Wind in the Willows” was recorded in June of 1989 in Geneva Illinois, and was one of the first songs to be recorded with the vastly upgraded sound quality of the Tascam 4 track tape machine.  Eric Johnson – all instruments

“The Last Song” from Universal’s Structure (1989)

“Salamander” was recorded in late 1988 in Geneva Illinois.  Featuring some backwards guitar and folk-rock stylings, its about salamanders.  Eric Johnson – all instruments, vocals

“Currents” from Universal’s Drone (1988)

“Currents” is a song about suicide, written during an illness during the spring of 1988.  Its one of the more together songs from the Drone project from the same year.  Eric Johnson – all vocals and instruments.

“Sun Song” from Universal’s Blind Child and the Garden (1987)

Similar to songs like “The Meadow,” “Sun Song” has a pastoral character and was a part of the original recording sessions for BCATG in late 1987.  Recorded in Geneva Illinois.  Eric Johnson – all instruments
