“Louisiana” from Sun Zoom Spark’s The Red Planets (1996)
“Louisiana” is sentimental lost-love song, recorded in Tucson Arizona, in fall 1996. The song features a trombone solo by drummer Bryan Kohl and while SZS never performed this song live, it remains a favorite in the Sun Zoom Spark catalog. “Clementine” from Sun Zoom Spark’s Against The Giant (1995)

“Dad’s Dope” from Work’s self-titled release (1994)
“Dad’s Dope” was originally called “Dats Dope” but after a late night rehearsal, “Dats” sounded more like “Dad’s” and the better name stuck. Recorded in 1994 in Madison Wisconsin, showcases the power of the Works power-trio with some choice samples from Days Of Our Lives soap-opera. “Hard” from Blue Ruin’s self-titled release
“Hard” was recorded at singer Todd Streicher’s studio in Madison Wisconsin in 1993 during a rehearsal. Its was featured on the self-titled debut and is the only recording of the song known to exist. The song represents a general shift toward harder, more riff-orientated music that came to dominate the band’s final stage.
