Synesthesia’s New Land is a collection of material that took a dramatic shift from the esoteric, soundtrack like recordings of Tone Poem (1993) and Tradition/Resolution (1992). As Eric Johnson, Steve and Jason Goetz were leaving Blue Ruin/Brave Sun, Johnson realized that the new trio, known as Works, need to be writing new material in a different way from the former band. Because of this, Johnson began to re-explore more traditional rock-style songwriting, in part, to fuel Works new direction. This new direction makes up the bulk of New Land’s material. There are acoustic ballads, heavy early 90s alternative rock, and some swing-style tunes. Interestingly, New Land was the last recording of solo work that Eric Johnson completed until 2010′s Special Patrol Group.
WARNING: A SlowBurn Records 4 Track Recording. Recorded material proudly does not comply with industry standards.
